Know when to ask for help

Yesterday, I was not feeling well, and had not gotten enough sleep the night before. Yes, I am aware that that will happen with a baby in the house, but still. I was exhausted and couldn't think straight. I finally called and asked my mother-in-law if she could watch my son so I could get a couple hours of sleep. She said yes. I dropped him off at her place, came home, ate lunch, and crashed. Next thing I know it was 5pm. I had dropped him off around 130. I got more sleep, and woke up with energy to spare. If I had not asked for help, who knows how the rest of my day would have gone. If you are a mother, whether it be for the first or fifth time, and you need help so you can get sleep, or get some cleaning done, ASK.
The night before, I needed to go get some stuff from the store, like MILK, but living in an upstairs apartment, with a baby, it means multiple trips to get everything up when I am by myself. So, I had had dinner with my mom at church, and asked her if she wanted to keep him for a bit then bring him home after church was over. She said yes. So I left her the carseat and went to the store. I ended up getting everything I needed, and still had time to get some cleaning done once I got home. I got the laundry going, and dishwasher running, and still had time to put the new bedding on my son's crib.

My son learning

My son is only 3 1/2 months old. He has already learned to roll from his belly to his back and tries his hardest to get from his back to his belly. He can scoot an inch at a time whether it be on his back or his belly, and in his walker can move backwards. How can he do all this at 3 months? We have prayed that he is strong, plus not to mention the fact that his name means strong gift from God. This is something I have been learning as I go with. I have been learning to pray for what I want or need and it eventually happens. We pray for our son to be strong, and he is so strong that everyone around us doesn't believe us half the time that he is already doing things that most babies don't start doing til they are 5 months or older. I just pray he actually crawls before he walks!

Why "Learning as you go"?

I have started this because like most of life, you have to learn as you go. For example, I am a new mother of a 3 month old. While I have experience caring for young kids, I thought could tell you exactly how to take care of a newborn. I learned so much my first week of mommyhood that I never even knew. Sure, I knew how to change a diaper, and make a bottle, and I knew the caring for a young child was time consuming, I never knew how much so. Being a nursing mother, I had to learn how to help my baby latch on to nurse, without the use of any aides. It took almost a month, right before I had to go back to work before we got it. Now, all I have to do is lift my shirt, unsnap my nursing bra and offer my breast to my son, and he latches straight on. More tips on this one later...

Another thing I am learning as I go is how to save money with coupons. I have found many sites and blogs that give tips and introduce deals to the general public and I plan to pass these on as well. I am learning how to find the best deals, and I have several websites I use to help me learn. I want to help you learn as well.

Life is not a situation into which you are born knowing everything you ever need to know. My main focus of this blog will be posting what I learn as I learn it. It might be a coupon you will want to know about, a tip on saving or making money, or a tip on how to clean house quickly and efficiently while your baby is sleeping. Hope you enjoy learning as you go!
