Circus Time!

The circus is in town this weekend. I was blessed enough to get free tickets from our local radio station, and was able to pass on 2 of the 4 to the mother of two girls who walked in right behind me to get the tickets. While we were at the circus itself, our son was cranky, and scared. He also didn't want his bottle, he wanted to nurse, which made sense since he had not seen me almost all day. I ended up sitting in the lobby area on a couch to nurse him, since there was not really anywhere else to go. No one said anything to me, and if they had asked me to leave, they could've gotten in trouble. In the state of OK, it is illegal to tell a nursing mom she can not nurse her child anywhere in public. I was being as discreet as possible which made it even more interesting as a father with his 3/4 year old son was nearby, and realized what I was doing.

Anyways, back to the circus stuff. It was fun, and when my son wasn't scared, hungry or sleepy, he was glued to it. He seemed especially into the animals. When we got home and were playing a little bit before bed, he sounded like he was growling like the tigers! It was so cute! We had fun overall, and it was great to get out of the house without having to spend anything besides money for parking.

Note to other nursing moms: there is not a place where you can privately nurse at the BOK Center in Tulsa. However, just remember that it is illegal for them to ask you to leave if you are nursing you child anywhere in public in the state of Oklahoma.

Baby on my Brain

Not only did I find out that my best friend is having a boy today, but I also found out that another friend had her baby girl today. Time to see what I have that I can/am willing to pass on.

Free Wipes

This Sunday's paper will have 3 inserts. To find out what the coupons will be, Google Sunday Coupon Preview and it should pull up or click here sundaycouponpreview.com/
One of the best coupons to take advantage of will be the $2/1 package of Pampers wipes. If you don't use them, please pass them on to someone who can, since this coupon makes them free at Wal-mart where they are normally $1.97. I will gladly take them off your hands if you don't need them. My son uses them, along with some of my friends' kids who have sensitive skin.

Last weekend Part 2

I also went swimming with my son for the first time. He didn't know quite what to think of it. My parents and sister came to join us for his first swim and we had so much fun! After swimming we came back to my apartment and had leftover cake from my birthday get together. Went and picked up a few groceries, and spent the most of the rest of the weekend relaxing.

Memorial Weekend

Started off by doing just a little shopping on Friday night. Found some pretty good deals, I think. Went to CVS in South BA. Had some coupons from my parents that were for celebrating the opening since it was a new store. There were four coupons available, of which I used 2. The 2 I used were for $3 off any CVS product, and the coupon for a free 2 L of coke. I also used a $5 off Similac check. Here's what I got...

CVS Toilet Paper (compare to Charmin) $3.49
2L Coke $1.25
Similac on the go packs marked down to $5.79

The coupon for the Coke was worth $1.99, giving me .74 overage, which covered the .49 left after the $3 off CVS product. That still left .25 which went towards the .79 left after the $5 Similac check. My grand total was $1.01, tax included! Since they only had one more of the Similac packs left, and we were so patient (We were there for almost an hour!) while they looked in the back for more, the manager wrote us a Rain Check for 2 more packs at $5.79 each. This means super cheap Similac in the future since I get those $5 Similac checks every 2 months!
