When taking a child to a funeral, take the time to explain to them as best as you can what is going to happen, or why you are there. My son is only 3 1/2 months, and this is his second funeral. At this time I do not need to tell him what is going on. However, for toddlers and older that have never been to a funeral, or may not understand death, take the time to explain. They may have questions. Answer as best as you can.
